'toasted o' of enlightenment?

Again: so long between updates. A lot of it has to do with the light and a the state of my camera. Really... I swear!! Our apartment gets very bad light this time of year. A lot of the time I have spent with Joseph outside lately has involved him riding on my back- not many photo-ops there. Just wait for spring!!!! I cleaned my camera lens yesterday... we will see if that also makes a difference the next time around... Until then: here is us doing our thing.

Like Joseph with a toasted o on his head getting ready to sing into the mic. Germ-a-phobes should stay clear of that mic while visitting us, btw. Just a little warning. The most exciting news to report: Joe 2 has a new job. It involved a few interviews, a personality test of some sort, a physical... he finally won out and passed their tests and now he gets to sleep at night like the rest of the world. It will be a HUGE change. Joseph (3) seems to think that daddy lives in our bedroom. Every time I ask him 'where's daddy' he points towards our room since, naturally, daddy is usually trying to sleep in there every daylight hour that he can. Poor Joe (2), but no more! Well, not more than a couple of weeks!! Congratulations!
We had a lovely Valentines Day. Half of our plans have been postponed until tomorrow. We had planned to go out for dinner... well, big lunch more likely, with Joseph in the middle of the day. Joe had to go (ace) his pre-employment physical that day so things got put off. No matter, it can be a sort of celebratory 'you got a job' thing, too, now. We won't waste any time feeling secretly stressed as we have been.

Valentine's night I hung out with the Trueworthys for a bit while Joe was still at work. They were in the thick of a car failure that day. Good new car luck to you guys!! Joe and I had champagne and strawberry tart-ish things later. These things are real treats these days. We are all about conserving money and health these days. What fun :/. I am sure we will thank ourselves later.Joseph (3) has been a real dynamo lately. We have had a long streak of great moods and a few days of great weather. The little guy likes getting out and about. We try to do it every day. Try is the important word here. The last couple of weeks have included things like a 'noreaster', a day of 60 mph winds, and a 'coldsnap'. Luckily they have also included things like a few 50 degree sunny days. Last Thursday Joseph and I took the ol' stroller down to the old port and fended off the seagulls for a couple of hours. It made me really anxious for summer. Not even summer, just spring!!! Some time of year when we can consistently get out of our little apartment and interact with the rest of the world.

I am trying to think of anything else to say about recent history. Joseph has made a couple of new friends: Streeter and Simon. Joe and I look forward to enjoying a life that involves more than the 'try to sleep', get to work, try to get housework done continuum. Stay tuned.
